Lots of Progress

I spent some quality time with my sewing machine yesterday and finished piecing the four remaining blocks for the project I started in Pam Buda's class. I need to sew them all together now and add a couple small borders - I think I like it!

I noticed that the three different fabrics I chose have somewhat of a squirlly motif going on - totally unintentional! LOL

I also made a bunch more of the 3" anvil blocks - can't decide if I'll be adding borders to this - any advice? Is the color distribution good enough to start sewing these together?

Now that I'm nearing completion of my tiny hexie project I've been looking for something else I can work on it in the evenings while watching TV. Temecula Quilt Co is doing fussy cut diamonds and it looked fun to me, so I bought some papers and have finished my first two stars. I have no idea of what this will look like when it's finished, but I like most everything they do so I'm sure I'll be pleased with it.

Hi Gayle!

Well I'm no quilter but I'm telling you from the standpoint of a quilt lover, that I think both of these are beautiful so far!

Have a delightful week~

I love the "squirrely" fabric!!! The anvil blocks are perfect!! Love them. I like the color distribution. One suggestion: have you thought about putting the dark triangles of the hst pointing toward each other and the lights likewise. Just might help the color "travel".

Your hexie stars are perfect!!

Blessings

Love your work! The black red and green works well together, looks great. The anvil blocks are cute, but there are three (blue and lavender) in the middle that make a light patch when I squint...what do you think? I find even colour placement takes lots of time and its never 100% right! The fussy cut stars are great! I am resisting at present, but sure I will give in soon!

Three very nice projects! Nice to see you quilting so much, even though I realize rug hooking is your first love.

Wow, look at you go! Your similar motif in the fabrics isn't obvious without a really close look. It is just a very striking combination--really classy looking.
I am totally in love with those little anvil blocks--that should come as no surprise. : ) I think the color distribution is great, and though I am usually a border gal, I think this stands on its own.
Pretty stars. It will be interesting to see how they are put together.

I just love all of your projects! Your quilt from class is so striking - I just love that black background! Great anvil blocks too - I struggle for days with color placement - it seems that every time I move a block it causes a new problem! Great fussy cuts for your new star blocks too - you are a woman of many talents!

Gayle, that is a beauty but I've no patience when it comes to such tedius work. I've made 3 quilts (if you want to call what I did quilting)but they weren't the caliper of what you gals are doing.
