A Couple More Rugs

Here are pictures of a couple more rugs that I've made over the years. The first one was a pattern in Create & Decorate magazine - they showed it as a penny rug, but I enlarged it and hooked the design. I've always loved alphabet samplers so it was fun to make this rug.

If you look closely you can see that I hooked the background behind each motif with a wool that was similar but different to add a subtle detail.

Hi Gayle!
We figured out how to make the cuts by reading this site and then designing a jig for the saw.

It took a lot of trial and error but once we got it, it was easy. Then we added our own twist to the design.
There are several other plans out there just google "how to build a garden obelisk"
Good Luck! Let me know if you build some.

Oh, I love both of those! I especially love the sampler one because of the little house and the colors. What a great idea to enlarge the pattern to hook it.

Hope you have a great weekend!

I think I watched you make the second one, but this is the first time I've seen #1. Great rugs as usual.
