Just a Couple of Things

I'm attending a baby shower for my niece on Saturday so I made her a cute little quilt for her baby girl. I think I'm getting pretty good at making these modern quilts that are WAY out of my comfort zone!  This one was very easy to do - just one big star block and a few flying geese.

I added the baby's name to the back - have never heard this one before! It rhymes with Navy.

Straight line quilting made it pretty fast to do.

I saw this old hooked rug at an antique store today. It was about 30" x 50" with a $40 price tag.

Fun to flip it over and see how bright the colors used to be. Don't see these for sale in Utah very often. I did not bring it home with me!

Your baby quilt is wonderful! I think the size makes it perfect to experiment with something different.:)

Your quilt turned out so pretty and yes the modern quilts are very popular now.
I'm surprised you resisted buying that rug; it looks like it's in good shape....but you probably just don't need another rug.

Mom will be happy with the baby quilt I'm quite sure. The antique rug may have lost a little color but surpringly not that much. THanks for sharing.

Love your baby quilt!! I need to get busy making one too. I think I have one I'll add a border to and say it was for baby:)
What a steal for that rug!

I need to follow your lead in making big block baby quilts. This looks great!
I have a great-niece named Navy, but Havy is a new one on me.

Great rug, love the design. Impressed you didn't buy it, but guess you have a house full of new rugs already? Awesome idea for a baby quilt, so quick and easy but effective!

Your simple design baby quilt is just the style the younger people like now. It is very pretty and I like how you put the baby's name on the backside.
I never see hooked rugs at the thrift stores. Well, I did see one done in yarn but I think it was mass produced by machine.

Havy's baby quilt is so cute, she's a lucky girl!! So I'm wondering why you didn't bring home the little rug. Of course you are so capable of making those who needs to buy one :)
Have a great week Gayle
