Projects

Last week I met with the hooking group in Salt Lake City and we had a nice time - shared treats and goodies and enjoyed each others company.

Myra brought two of the five pillows that she has made as gifts for her daughters - I can't remember who the designer is - but she especially like the pattern because it wasn't 'just' for Christmas, but could be displayed all winter long.

Nancy showed us her finished rug and told us about some sticky stuff she puts under her rugs so they won't slip on the carpet - I'm going to try and look for some of this and use it for my rugs too.

She also showed us some ornaments that she hooked using a pattern in the most recent Rug Hooking Magazine. Just needs to get the back finished and they'll be ready to hang on the tree. She wanted to add some metallic touches, but instead found some irridescent beads that added a bit of sparkle to them. Cute!

And I actually started a new rug so I had a project to work on too! Scrappy - it'll be for my dining room table.

Some nice looking projects by the group. I had never thought that Christmas ornaments might be made using rug hooking techniques. Cool. Looking forward to seeing your cute rug finished. Merry Christmas.

Your new rug project looks very pretty. Love the colors.
What cute little ornaments--I, too, never thought of hooked ornaments. And those are great "all winter" pillows.

Love your scrappy rug! These are my favorites to look at - and to hook. Always so playful and bright.

Myra's daughters sure are lucky... I love those pillows, what a nice gift they make! I really like those little beads that Nancy used, gives just the right amount of embellishment to the ornaments without taking away from them. And of course, your rug is looking beautiful so far and will be neat when you are finished... love those colors.

Fun projects, thanks for sharing them with us. I'm inspired and I'm not even a hooker!

HI, I love Nancy's finished geometric rug. I found a pic of it on Pinterest and traced it back to this blog. I am interested in adapting the pattern to a tessellation and would like to know if Nancy would be okay with that. Since her rug is the inspiration for my idea I would very like to her thumbs up on my adaption. :)
Thanks so much.
