New Project and Exciting News!

I started a new rug hooking project last week. I'm making it for a specific reason so wait till you see what I do with it!

I'm sure you've all heard about the wonderful new primitve magazine that's out? I subscribed as soon as I heard about it last October.

On their blog, they asked folks to send them pictures of some of the favorite projects that they had made so I sent them photos of my stair rugs. I received my copy of the magazine in the mail on Saturday and they included my rugs! Now I'm doing the happy dance!

Hubby recovered from his surgery well enough to go ahead with a hiking trip he planned for the weekend with some of our kids and two of his brothers - they went into the red rock country of So. Utah and were going to explore Dark Canyon. I was invited, but they took tents to sleep in because the terrain is too rough for our 5th wheel to navigate, so I politely declined and have been home alone all weekend - they'll return Tuesday night. I've enjoyed every minute of my solitude and have gotten a lot done.

I was wondering whose steps those were! Just adorable!! I'm with you...I could stand to be by myself for a few days. Can't see that happening soon. Wonder what I could arrange.....

Congrats Gayle!!! Yeah!!! Those are some pretty awesome little stair rugs! I would probably gotten one done and then lost interest...Don't know where I misplaced my "stick-to-itness" these past couple of years. Just too many fun things pulling at my heart strings I guess. Can't wait to see your new project either! (And, yeah - I love those "away" times...think we all can use it now and then....) Smiles & Hugs, Robin

I love them! Now I am thinking about my stairs. So many rug hooking projects and not enough time. Bring the magazine to the Board Meeting.

Congratulations on being featured in the magazine!! It looks like a great magazine, makes me wish I could quilt! Your stair rugs are AMAZING! Now that's a huge labor of love!

I don't blame you for turning down a camping trip that involves a tent, lol. How nice to have all that time to yourself. Gracious, I don't know what I'd do with myself if I had that!

Hi Gayle...congrats on being featured in that new magazine .... I am not surprised though, I have long admired your work!!

Since you didn't get to go away to your retreat, it's great you got your weekend alone! What rare moments those are!!

To answer your question, my box just hangs on a nail on the door. The box is heavy so it doesn't really bang when we open and close the door. Once when we had very high winds it did bang a hit so I took it in but other than that, it isn't a problem.

Take care! HUGS!!!
