A New Project

Well, it's sorta new! I've been working on it for a couple months now and I realized I hadn't shared a picture of this rug yet. This is actually an applique quilt pattern that I found for free on the internet, but I decided it would make a great rug instead - quilting and rug hooking are SO compatible!  I'd love to share the link with you but I can't seem to find it again! Grrr..... I'm using my favorite background on this piece - I pulled out a bunch of ugly bright plaids from my stash and overdyed them an antique black. There's lots of interest and movement that way.

And, on another note, have you tried the new Pretzel M&Ms yet? Mmmmmmm. The perfect combination of salty and sweet. I'm lovin' 'em!

That is a great rug and love how you dyed that background. Definitely some wonderful movement in it. And I haven't seen those M&M's but they'll definitely be winners in my book. I'm going to look at the drug store tonight. Do I come to you when they start appearing on my hips! :o)

I love your rug Gayle! I've always loved an antique black background. It's so fun while you're hooking to see how the different plaids add so much movement! Very nice hooking! Those M&M's sound dangerous to one who is dieting(me)........drat! I LOVE m&m's!!!!

Gayle ~
Your rug looks wonderful. I do love your antique black background.
Pretzel M&M's. Sounds yummy. Probably a taste similar to the goodies I make at Christmas with a pretzel, M&M, and a hershey kiss. Oh, I'm getting the munchies!
Pug hugs :)

Gayle,

I'm a new rug hooker, your rug is beautiful, thanks for mentioning that quilting patterns are so compatible with rug hooking, I had not thought of that, I'll look at quilting patterns differently now. I'll have to try the M & M's, I love them with popcorn..
Blessings,
Ronda

Hi GAyle...

Thanks for visiting my blog, I entered you in my giveaway. Hey I just got back from the store had to try those M & M's, pretty darn good. Have you ever done any locker hooking? I was checking into that today, looks interesting, great way to use up scrap fabric. Just ordered rug punch needles from Amy Oxford too, anxious to do that. Thanks again for visiting.

Blessings,
Ronda

Beautiful rug. That background really works! It makes the motif very striking. I tend to like the dark backgrounds.
Thanks for the tip on the M&M's - guess I will have to try them soon.
