Marliss is nearly finished hooking the background on her circle rug, and is trying to decide what to do with the border. She teaches piano lessons and plans to attach this rug to the piano bench to give her students a little soft padding.
Tonia is working on a great rug of the Angel Moroni that I really like. The wools and colors she used on this are just perfect.
Sandy is doing a fun little rug - each square has a different motif in it so it's always interesting for her to work on. After she got home from our meeting she was able to make a much anticipated trip to Jackson Hole, WY where she hit the wooly jackpot at the local thrift store. Yay for Sandy!
Tonia shared this piece of wool that she bought. It was a very simple skirt, but very unusual because the floral design was printed on the surface of the fabric instead of woven in. We were tickled for her because the original price tag of $400+ was still attached to the skirt. It had been marked down to the clearance price of $200+, and she found it priced for $4.00 at the thrift store. It's a little too heavy to use for hooking so she'll probably make a nice purse or tote bag out of it.
It's so nice to be home (for awhile).
