Some Finished Projects

Well, I did get my red, white & blue quilt finished before the 4th but haven't had time to share it until now.

It finished up at 36" square and I'm very pleased with it - especially glad to have it done since it's been in the UFO pile for 2-3 years! Yay!

I saw some darling little basket blocks shared by Temecula Quilt Co so decided I'd make a few for myself. Well, one is made - and that's the end of THAT! A 2" block with that many pieces is beyond my comfort level so I'll just pin this up on my board and call it good! LOL

Last week my rug group met at my house - usually in the summer we enjoy the day out on the patio under the shade trees, but we were in the middle of a horrific heat wave so opted to stay inside where it was cooler. Jeanette brought this Americana table quilt that was so cute - I love how each star has a different quilt block in the middle of it.

And she has totally finished her sheep rug with the owl perched on his back - FUN!

Sandy brought a little quilt with sheep - I have this pattern printed out SOMEWHERE in my stuff, but need to dig it out so I can make one for myself - every time I see it I fall in love with it again!

Angela finished punching this little piece while was here - she has a wonderful wooden box with an insert in the lid that she will mount it in.

I recognize your patriotic quilt pattern as I pulled it out the other day from my stash and was thinking about making one. Nice finish.

I made one of those 2 inch stars and like you, I decided one was enough. I would rather make them bigger, maybe 4 inches so it would use up some fabric in the scrap basket.

I adore that quilt pattern. I have it in my pattern stash, too. In fact, I think I bought it after seeing it on your blog a long time ago????

I looked at those little blocks and passed, too. Way cute, but too tiny.

Love the finish on your little patriotic quilt, Gayle!
And the table runner is a fun idea with the different centers to the stars.
Very cute sheep/owl rug. : )
I got my little sheep quilt finished and hung by the 4th, too. Guess I could still share it.
I am seeing those little cake stand blocks on several blogs, after being enticed by them on Temecula's blog. But I had made one a while ago into a little ornament and I knew I couldn't make one a day!
Angela's piece is gorgeous. What a nice way to display it.

It feels great to finish a project that has been around for while. Your Red White and Blue quilt has turned out beautiful and that tiny basket bloc is just precious but, oh my, so much tedious work it must have been. I love, love, love Jeanette table quilt. Just so stunning, the fabric and the patterns.

The rugs also are beautiful.

You always have the best show and tell! Love your finish - doesn't it feel good to have one UFO off the pile!? I am working on the little sheep wall hanging too.

Your R,W,&B quilt is great. I love the whimsy primitive look. Fun binding. Your rug group always puts on a impressive show and tell. The sheep with the owl is quite a hoot. Love it.

I mis-read and thought you said your quilt had been in the UFO basket for 23 years - LOL! Anyway, it turned out great!

Gayle, I really love that quilt! Congrats on the finish.
I'm here retreating and shared the paragraph about the 2" block. One of the girls brought her "one" block! Lol
