MUCH Better, Yes?

I met with my Salt Lake Rug Group on Tuesday and got a good start on redoing the background of this little beehive rug - it is SO much better now that the hooking is done. Still need to tweak a couple of the flower centers, then get it pressed & bound. And I actually figured out a great use for this, which I will share when it's all finished.

(edited to add: you can see my earlier attempt on this rug in the previous post)

  1. A perfect Bee hive rug for your Bee if you ask me. The Sesame Street theatre was in Dutch. We do have Sesame Street at the Dutch television with Ernie, Bert and Elmo and such but our Big Bird is blue and named Pino and we have Tommy of course, Rosa's favourite.
It was special visiting the show with my granddaughter.

  2. I'm trying to recall the old background. But this does look really good! Love beehives! But then I live next door to a "bee garden". : )

  3. I've just discovered your blog and really loved seeing all your pictures. I'm just new at hooking and need to buy a hook, I've been trying it with my crochet hook. I'm working on a stack of wool and need to purchase some backing fabric. I also love to sew and quilt. I'm not happy unless I'm creating something... thank you for your Blog

  6. Yep...I like it better! My husband had bees for the first time last year, so I have a new appreciation for them!

  7. Oh, yes. I like the new background much better with the bee shep being grounded on the hill and the colors for the background are less busy. Plus, the flowers are part of a bees life so it was a perfect addition.

  9. Great bee skep rug! Can you email me the number of the guy who re works the old singer feather weight sewing machines? I think his wife is in one of your rug hooking groups. I'm thinking of buying one but want to talk to him before I do. Hope you had a great Christmas! Thanks Sue
